1 Overview
ThumbnailInsight ("we", "us", "our") operates the website thumbnailinsight.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We are committed to transparency and to protecting your privacy.
2 What we do NOT collect
The most important thing to understand about ThumbnailInsight is what we do not collect:
- Your thumbnail images: All image processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your images are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. We cannot see, access, or retain any thumbnail you test.
- Account or registration data: We do not require account creation. We collect no usernames, passwords, or profile information.
- Payment information: The Service is free. We collect no payment data of any kind.
- Video titles or channel names: Text you type into the tool is processed locally in your browser only. It is never transmitted to us.
- Precise location data: We do not collect GPS or precise location information.
3 What we do collect
We collect a minimal set of data to operate and improve the Service:
- Anonymous usage analytics: We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how many people use the Service and which features are most used. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally.
- Standard server logs: Web server logs may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is retained for a maximum of 30 days for security and performance monitoring, then permanently deleted.
- Contact form submissions: If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and message content solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not use this data for marketing.
4 Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies required for the Service to function (for example, remembering your tab selection within a session). We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party marketing cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work correctly without them.
5 Third-party services
We use Google Fonts to load the typefaces used on this website. This means your browser may make a request to Google's servers when you load the page. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle this data. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
6 Data security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect the limited data we do hold. Since your thumbnail images never leave your browser, the primary privacy-sensitive data (your creative work) has the strongest possible protection. It will never transmitted at all.
7 Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), or other applicable privacy laws, including:
- The right to access personal data we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate personal data
- The right to request deletion of your personal data
- The right to restrict or object to processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
Since we collect very little personal data, most requests will have a simple response. To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@thumbnailinsight.com.
8 Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@thumbnailinsight.com and we will delete it promptly.
9 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
